Masaku Sevens has returned and huge crowds are expected to stream into Machakos County for the highly hyped event that begins on Friday July 8.
Masaku Sevens is a yearly rugby tournament said to colonize Machakos town every time it happens and this year’s tournament is nothing less as more crowds are expected to descent to the old good town.
The tournament often attracts fans from far and wide, with young and old revelers gearing up for a total three days Machaoks town take over.
Machakos town is literally the place to be this weekend, with traders expected to make a killing out of it.
The Masaku Sevens crowds have proved to be fun lovers and true revellers with some drinking the shelves dry, business is expected to be booming with accommodation almost fully booked. From the man doing the face painting at the stadium entrance to hawkers selling all kinds of merchandise everyone will be in business.
The Machakos governor has taken to his Facebook page amid the excitement, to welcome the seeming psyched up online crowd and has assured them of tight security during the 3 days event.
“Welcome to this year’s Masaku Sevens scheduled for Friday July 8 to Sunday July 10, 2016 at Kenyatta Stadium, Machakos, We have put in place tight security and paved extra roads to reduce traffic congestion on the main roads during the tournament.
