Best performing schools feted during Kitui County Prize Giving Day

Top schools in Kitui County yesterday July 14 were a happy lot after bagging accolades presented by the chief in charge; Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe at a colourful event hosted at Kefri, Kitui town.

The top schools were feted for exemplary performances in an event attended by top educationalists in the county and education stakeholders.

As a way forward to improved academic performance in the county and encourage competition, a taskforce was set up and targets set for all categories of schools in the county for both primary and secondary schools to be achieved in the next 5 years.

Speaking at the function, the Governor called on all education stakeholders to participate in improving the education sector in the county, as education is the only major resource that the people of Kitui can exploit.

Kitui County KUPPET Secretary Kioko Mutia while addressing education stakeholders at the Prize Giving Ceremony reiterated that accountability in schools must be upheld for smooth running of the education system in the county
