Ngilu finally agrees to have been meeting Mr. President. The former Lands CS in an interview with Swaleh on Citizen TV on Sunday evening neither denied nor accepted to be in contact with the president.
Charity Ngilu during the live interview openly avoided a question from a viewer where she was taken to task to respond to an allegation on whether she was in talks with the President.
“Who does not talk to his/her president, everyone is entitled to speak to their president.” A seemingly annoyed Ngilu retorted. “Who asked that Swaleh?” Ngilu asked on air.
Her reaction seems to have rubberstamped allegation that rent the air last week all over the media that the former land CS Charity Ngilu was privately meeting with H. E Uhuru Kenyatta in what political analyst termed as a strategy for 2017.
Ngilu indirectly agreed to the speculations by asking if it was wrong to meet with the president. “Ni vibaya kuwa na mikutano na raisi wetu? Ni raisi wa kila mtu” She said.
The NARC leader stated that she would use her party to seek election but noted that it was too early to say which coalition she would join she neither denied her ties with the Jubilee government nor allude to plans to join the opposition.
Ngilu only commented saying that even though the Jubilee Government has fulfilled some of the promises it made to the electorate, people in mashinani were still suffering, adding that she would like to work to alleviate the suffering.
On the CORD coalition, Ngilu said CORD leader Raila Odinga is a leader of Kenya and has done a good job keeping the government in check.
