Wiper party Chairman and Kitui gubernatorial aspirant David Musila has dispelled fears among aspirants regarding Wiper nominations ahead of next year’s elections insisting that there will be no bias nor rigging of votes.

Speaking on Saturday during a funds drive at Kamandio Secondary School in Kitui Central, Musila said that the party will hold a free and fair exercise to pick its candidates.

The Kitui senator dismissed speculations that the party would give him a direct nomination to face the other the gubernatorial aspirant in next year’s elections.

Musila was responding to a statement made by his opponent Dr. Julius Malombe who accused him of plotting to use his influence in Wiper party to secure express Wiper ticket for the governorship position.

Musila bashed at Malombe’s remarks saying those who think they will buy out IEBC to do Wiper nominations in their favour should think again. “Wiper as a political party will do its own nominations.” Musila said.

Malombe had earlier said that it was unfair for leaders interested on political positions to oversee Wiper nominations within the county, he said Wiper needs a non-partisan independent body that has no inclination to any position.

Governor Malombe had called on the Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka to seek the intervention of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission in order to carry out a free and fair Wiper Party nomination. Governor Malombe is seeking a bid for his re-election.

Malombe had expressed fears that there are some Wiper leaders who could take advantage of their influence to forge their way to the top either through vote rigging or using their positions in Wiper.
