Drama ensued Monday morning at Kisioni Primary School in Tseikuru in Kitui County after Standard 7 and 8 children razed down a kiosk suspected to belong to a woman with jinns.

Tension was high after the end of term exams were temporarily paralyzed at the school, as the pupils spend the day at the police station instead.

Twenty four pupils were arrested by police officers from Tseikuru following the incidence. They were later frog matched to Kyuso Law courts to answer to the charges of arson. Parents began to stream into the police station minutes later as news of the attack spread.

According to one teacher whose name we have withheld, the 24 pupils were suspected to have planned and set fire the woman’s kiosk at Wikithuki Shopping Centre located near the famous Wikithuki Irrigation Scheme.

The lady is said to possess jinns which she occasionally sends to the school. The pupils accuse her of making their school life unbearable and learning impossible.

The school turns chaotic whenever the spirits pay a visit, they say, but the pupils seem to have had enough resorting to take the law into their own hands in a bid punish the malicious woman.

The head teacher Mr Nzomo Maithya accompanied by parents followed the pupils to the police. Our efforts to get more details on the matter were unsuccessful as the head teacher could not be reached at the time of publishing.
