Mwende's sad story has caught te eye of an NGO Merck that has since offered her a lifeline

The story of Jackline Mwende who was brutally battered in a horrifying incident and had her hands chopped off by her husband for failing to conceive for seven years has literally opened a Pandora’s Box.

After Mwende was allegedly attacked by her husband for not bearing her husband a child, another woman from Kitui has come out to narrate her horrifying ordeal in the hands of her husband.

The woman identified as Ann Mwangangi, aged 35 from Muthaiga village near Mwingi town says she has been living a lie in an abusive relationship for a long time.

She said that her husband one Julius Mwangangi Syengo, about 41 of age had physically assaulted her on several times to the extent of stabbing her with a knife and confessed to have narrowly escaped death on three different counts.

Such stories are leaving much to be desired as it is now emerging that most women are often exposed to hostile marriage environment but choose to persevere until everything is blown out of proportion and attracts the attention of the world like in the case of Jackline Mwende.
