His Excellency the governor of Kitui Dr. Julius Malombe who visited the home turf of his rival Senator David Musila on Sartuday August 13 brought along lots of goodies for the residents of Migwani.
Among them, Dr Malombe promised to revive a colonial era dam that will see the locals enjoy abundant access to clean water for domestic use, livestock and agricultural activities.
The governor said his government will revive the Kaiveti dam back to its glory in order ease the suffering women go through in search of water.
While speaking at the dam site, the governor pledged to resuscitate the dam, this will see increase accessibility to water for and stabilize vegetation cover within the area to aid in environment conservation.
“Water is an important commodity that every resident must be able to access and enjoy.” The governor said.
“My government is very particular in delivering its promise to the people and among our priorities is access to clean drinking water.” He added.
The governor thanked Mrs. Kola Katembu whose land the dam lies for offering to donate the piece for the good course.
Mrs. Kola Katembu said she would offer the land piece of land covering the dam in support of the county’s efforts recover the water reservoir after many years of agony.
