As 2017 fast approaches, political landscapes are changing. The gubernatorial seat has attracted three candidates with two contenders from the Wiper wing and the third being the Narc leader Ngilu, the fate of the governor race is almost known but the Kitui women rep position, with incumbent Hon. Nyiva Mwendwa who has already declared her retirement from politics. The position is up for grabs and has given an uphill task to several women eyeing the seat.
Now that the general elections are right around the corner, aspiring female candidates for the Kitui Women Representative are gearing up for the race.
It will be interesting to watch the race amongst these women for the coveted parliamentary seat. In the meantime many have started thriving on propaganda.
Speculations have been high that one of the popular candidates Irene Kasalu may have given up the race and stepped down for the rest of the contenders but she has come up to clear the rumor saying she is up to the task and has been silent strategizing.
“My campaigns are very on. On Friday I officially registered as a Wiper member. Over the weekend I met several leaders from Kitui Rural and tomorrow I will am on the ground in Kitui West.” Kasalu told KO yesterday Sept 13
