The Red Cross will now play a part in disaster and risk management, contributing in structuring legal framework, capacity building, and enhancing food security and promoting youth and children empowerment in the new pact signed between the society and the county government of Kitui.

The agreement was signed yesterday by Kenya Red Cross Society’s Deputy Secretary General James Kisia and acting County Secretary Alex Kimanzi.

Governor Julius Malombe said these areas of co-operation will come in handy in improving the livelihoods of the residence and enhancing the implementation of county programs.
