PRESS STATEMENT BY SENATOR DAVID MUSILA ON NOMINATIONS MODALITIES SET OUT BY WIPER NEC ON 21/2/2017

As you are aware, there has been political hullabaloo in the Wiper Democratic Movement generated by the earlier proposed election modalities.
In particular, there was the controversial issuance and hawking of membership cards by interested parties in particular Kitui County where massive irregularities orchestrated by Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Makau Malombe for the sole purpose of nominating himself as the Wiper Gubernatorial candidate.
Consequently, the party has now made an executive decision to do away with these cards as nomination tools and NEC has now ordered that the National Identification Card will be the eligible document for the purposes of nomination within the Wiper Party.
Following the resolving of this attempt to blatantly influence what essentially should be a free and fair nomination, I will now fully participate in the Wiper Nomination ticket to vie for the Kitui Gubernatorial in August 8th 2017.
I urge my many supporters to be vigilant during the nomination period because we have credible and substantiated information that the Kitui County Government has mobilized public coffers both capital and human to fraudulently procure nomination for the Wiper ticket.
Before the Wiper Cards auction was stopped, the County Government was using ward and village administrators to distribute these cards in blatant abuse to the code of contact and ethics of public servants.
The ID’S will also be used for identification and voting in Makueni and Machakos Counties, the two other strongholds of Wiper Democratic Movement.
For the record, I am now satisfied that a level playing ground for nominations across the width and breadth of the entire Wiper constituency has been rolled out to allow Wiper supporters pick leaders of their choice and not political shenanigans.
Signed,
Senator David Musila,
Kitui County
