Journalists and county government officers were left in stitches by kitui County governor, Julius Malombe when he ironically said that he was not aware that former lands cabinet secretary Charity Ngilu was vying for the kitui gubernatorial seat.
Malombe had been asked by standard journalists whether he knew that Ngilu supporters had voted for him in the Wiper primaries because he was a weaker candidate compared to senator David Musila.
The governor laughed off the question, saying his competitor has been Musila and since he had beaten him in the controversial wiper polls he had no any other serious contender.
He exhibited confidence that Ngilu will be a walk in the park.
” I’m not aware of Ngilu’s candidature because I’ve never seen anything serious in her, If she dares me I will beat her with 100000 votes ” said Malombe.
“Politically Ngilu is not my match and it’s a serious joke for one to imagine that there’ll be any competition between us” he went on.
On several occasions Malombe has been heard cautioning Kalonzo to be wary of Ngilu saying that her new friendship with wiper could not be trusted.
The governor also asked wiper leader Kalonzo to appoint him as the chairman of the Wiper party citing that he was the most experienced party member politically to galvanize the Kamba community.
