Governor Julius Malombe’s conspicuous absence at yesterday’s burial of the mother to his senior PR & Communications Officer has set tongues wagging with great concerns about the kind of a person he is.
According to reliable sources, the county boss’s insensitive demeanour towards Munyasya Musya and his family has left most residents shocked and angered in equal measures.
“How can he prove to care about the local mwananchi when he doesn’t even show a shred of empathy to his bereaved officer. Such is a very beastly behavior.
“He should at least show solidarity with his own especially during times like this when they need all the sympathy and encouragement they can get to help them through the loss,” one of the mourners at the late Sala Mung’wele’s sendoff ceremony was overheard lamenting.
It is also alleged that Malombe never made the simple effort of sending a message of condolence, not even by SMS, to the senior county government officer even after learning about the demise of his loved one some two weeks ago.
The embattled governor reportedly fell out with the said officer over control issues since he is known to look down on other people’s opinions especially at the place of work due to his infamous “one-man-show” style of operation.
