Women Rep hopeful Jane Kibati has hit out at her opponents and their supporters following destruction of her campaign posters in different parts of Kitui.
In an exclusive interview with Kitui Online, Mrs Kibati accused her rivals of orchestrating the tearing down of the campaign materials.
“I am aware that one of my challengers is hiring goons to pull my posters down.
“But I won’t stoop to their level as I’m not for that kind of politics. I challenge my opponents to compete with me on policies but not on who can beat the others at dirty politics,” she argued.
While calling for peaceful campaigns even as the polls loom, the aspirant warned that she will be forced to launch legal complaints if the unscrupulous political tacks persist.
As an independent candidate, she is set to battle it out with Wiper Party’s Irene Kasalu, Nelly Mwanzia (Maendeleo Chap Chap) and Sofia Khamisi (Jubilee Party).
