Senator David Musila has expressed fears that the county administration is completely unprepared to handle Cholera outbreak owing to Governor Malombe’s indolent leadership.
“I expect Malombe to have directed that precautionary measures be put in place including deploying public health educators to enlighten the public on hygiene especially when handling foodstuffs and drinking water.
“Eateries should also have been assessed to ensure they are clean besides shutting down those susceptible to the dangerous disease,” he said during a governor’s debate at Parkside Villa Motel, which Dr Malombe skipped.
He decried the wanting garbage management and free flowing sewage water in the major towns of Kitui and Mwingi, terming the situation as a perfect recipe for the outbreak.
His concerns come at a time when Machakos County is battling the cholera outbreak which first hit the heart of the capital city, Nairobi hardly a month ago.
