Over 3,000 person have applied for the eight County Government’s ministerial positions advertised recently, signalling the insatiable thirst for jobs in Kitui.
This translates to an average of 375 applicants per post.
Hundreds of applications have been flowing in on a daily basis since the openings were advertised on September 15th, according to our source in the administration.
The deadline lapsed yesterday September 21st.
Now the ball is on the County Public Service Board’s court.
The county hiring body has in the past been on the spotlight for allegedly conducing irregular recruitment.
Under former Governor Julius Malombe’s administration, the board was notably put on the spot for allegedly shortlisting candidates after, instead of before, conducting interviews for Village Administrators.
This being the first ever hiring under Governor Charity Ngilu’s new leadership, the board has a chance to redeem itself and gain public confidence.
