KITUI, Governor’s Press, October 19, 2017: Governor Kaluki Ngilu leads Kitui County in marking this year’s Mashujaa Day in Mwingi town where celebrations will take place tomorrow.
The event will be her first appearance in a national public holiday as head of Government and also the first event to be graced by a Governor in Mwingi town.
Ngilu who took the reins of the county after she floored her predecessor Julius Malombe and former Kitui Senator David Musila in the August general elections, will use the occasion to expound on her achievements in 68 days in office.
Among her flagship accomplishments include the Water Scarcity Mitigation programme, the Medical Outreach Programme, the Farm Ploughing Programme and the Ndengu (green gram) Revolution.
Through the programmes, the County Government has delivered water to needy areas through tankers, provided mobile clinic service to people living remote areas where medical facilities are sparse and ploughed farms for needy households to assist them grow food and raise incomes.
