In bid to better and encourage involvement of Kenyan youths in agriculture,United States African Development Foundation (USDAF) is giving grant worth 25 million in support to Local African owned Cooperatives, Producer groups and enterprises with innovative solutions that can help them generate revenues, create more jobs,improve farmers income and achieve sustainable agricultural market .
Only proposals from registered Agricultural Cooperatives, Producer Groups and Agricultural Processors in Kenya which are working directly in the Livestock, Dairy and Fish Sectors will be considered and accepted.The maximum award is US$ 250,000 for the cooperative that will be successful.
All you need to bag this cash is to have a totally African owned and run enterprises, agricultural associations or cooperatives operating in the Livestock, Dairy and Fish Sectors.
All the applicants must be legally registered in Kenya ,with a proven ability manage and utilise effectively internal and external resources to achieve sustainable agricultural growth.
A cooperative must have a ready market opportunity to generate individual farmer income .It should also have a good plan on how they can increase their revenues in 2-4 years.
It must also be able to utilise locally available resources and kind contributions towards making proposal successful as well as influencing hundreds of Kenyan youths so as succeed in agriculture.In addition to that, the cooperative must be able to identify additional financiers after USADF.
The USADF is an independent U.S Government Agency established to invest in African enterprises aiming at improving livelihoods of communities across Africa.
This initiative encourages our youths who are already in a registered Agricultural entity to participate in agro economy so as to better their lives and generate income on their own.
