Kitui county deputy governor Wathe Nzau has promised quality education to all school-going children in the county through the provision of a robust bursary program to be rolled out soon.
While speaking in mwingi town on 28th, December last year, the deputy county boss said that, together with Governor Ngilu, youth empowerment is a key pillar in their manifesto.
“I thank Equity Bank for coming up with the Wings to Fly program, which has enabled many bright students from poor backgrounds to access education. It’s a good move.” Nzau said during the flagging off of eight students who qualified for the Equity Bank’s program.
The deputy governor further added that the county government would this year allocate Sh2 million to each ward in county through the Pro-Poor Education Program that is intended to support needy students with bursaries.
