Woman alleged to have bribed voters for Malombe appears as witness in court


A woman was on Thursday  January 4, 2018 presented as a witness by the first  respondent, Charity Ngilu, in Dr. Julius Malombe’s petition against the incumbent governor’s election top the top seat.

The woman,Florence Mbuvi claimed to have been attacked by goons on October 8,2017 on allegations that she had been voter-bribing for the former governor.

During her cross-examination by governor Ngilu’s lawyer Kioko Kilukumi at milimani law courts in Nairobi, Ms Mbuvi claimed that the assaulters had made away with her cash amounting to 20,000 at Muslim Secondary School polling station.

Mbuvi who confirmed that she indeed has known Dr. Malombe for over 10 years said that she had been attacked by at lest 10 men and had identified one of them in her statement at Kitui police station as one Moses Munyalo.

Benson Munyao, a witness in the same case and also Wiper Party’s agent at Kitui Boys High School, said that he had not signed the form 37A citing beliefs that the results had been tampered with.
