Ukambani leaders decry being ignored by Uhuru in his Cabinet

A section of leaders from the larger  Ukambani region have come up in arms against the recently announced Cabinet by president Uhuru Kenyatta saying that the community has been ignored completely.

In a phone interview with Kituionline, the Makueni Member of Parliament Daniel Kitonga Maanzo accused the president of retaining incompetent ministers and sacking the few representatives from the region who served in the previous cabinet.

“Today we have seen the line up of cabinet secretaries that have been appointed by Uhuru and we have as well seen the GSU commandant Joel Kitili being relieved of his duties. Cleopas Mailu has as well been dropped yet Macharia has been retained in his Cabinet.” Maanzo noted.

The lawmaker said that retaining CS James Macharia in the  Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Development is ironic given the continuous accidents being witnessed across the country.

“In all  the named ministers, the Kamba community has not featured anywhere. This proves that the Jubilee government does not encompass all the Kenyans in its administration.” Maanzo added.

He further  urged all our Kamba leaders who have camped at Jubilee to please come back in the opposition, NASA, as they do not stand any chance of benefiting there.
