The Lands, Infrastructure and Urban Development County Executive Committee member for Kitui County Government Hon. Engineer Kakundi urged the road grading machine operators to be cautious while accomplishing their tasks of improving over 1200 Km of rural roads.
He called upon them to commit themselves fully and work to their level best to make the whole plan a success.
He was speaking on Monday 15th January, 2018 at Kitui County Stadium during the official launch of Rural Roads Grading Programme across all the 40 assembly wards in the vast Kitui County.He was accompanied by the County boss H.E Charity Ngilu and other several county officials.
Hon Kakundi promised the Kitui residents that the county government of Kitui shall make close supervision and monitorship of the roads grading plan to ensure high quality work is done. This is because some contractors have been doing the work partly and claim ti have perfectly done the work.
In addition to that, Hon. Kakundi also urged the plant operators not to heap huge lumps of soil to the farmers cultivated areas to minimise the loss incursion. Many beneficiaries of the Ndengu Revolution are expecting to start harvesting their crops soon.
Concerning the underground water pipes,The County Executive Committee Member cautioned the machine operators against damaging those pipes so as to safeguard the locally available resources.
He added that the county government has been struggling to provide clean and adequate water to the prople and so the water pipes should be kept care of.
