Machakos, Thursday, 19th January: Nasa Co-Principal and Wiper leader Dr.Kalonzo Musyoka has broken silence on the ongoing High Court petition by former Kitui Governor Dr. Julius Malombe challenging Governor Ngilu’s victory in last election.
Addressing thousands of people during the peoples’ assembly convergence in Machakos Golf Club today, the NASA Deputy leader said that it is needless to have a distant number three file a petition and challenged Malombe to concede defeat.
Kalonzo said that Kitui people have resolved to move on and election petition challenging the Governor’s win would only derail development in the Ukambani County.
“If you join this Leadership ya siasa, you must listen to what people are saying, na wamesema hawataki vurugu” He said.
He noted that Governor Ngilu has stood with him throughout the NASA campaigns and has often reiterated that she would follow Kalonzo to the end.
“Dada yangu Ngilu amehapa kuniunga mkono hadi mwisho, Kibwana naye ameamua pia, ni lazima pia tujue kuzungumza” (My sister Ngilu has resolved to support me, her counterpart Kibwana too, we must exchange ideas) Kalonzo said.
The former Vice-President condemned politics that may attract division in Kitui and said that unity was key in spearheading development in the area.
He said that the former Governor should join Kitui people in development and uphold politics of unity.
“Tumuombee Charity Ngilu, and I ask Malombe if he is still a Wiper member ajue I have since checked na majority ya wiper members hawataki mambo ya vurugu Kitui county” He said.
