Mrs Nyenze, the wife to the late Member of Parliament for Kitui West Francis Nyenze has received a major boost from the ruling Jubilee party who have unanimously endorsed her for the seat.
In a press release and public memo from the party dated January 19, the ruling party disowned their aspirant, Tony mbai who earlier vied on Jubilee ticket and was contesting for the same seat in the scheduled by-election.
“After wide consultations within the Jubilee party and putting into consideration other factors touching on the Kitui West constituency, the Jubilee party has today decided not to field any candidate for the upcoming by-election. ” said the memo undersigned by Jubilee’s Secretary General Raphael Tuju.
The party further acknowledged that the candidate from the other party, Wiper, was Mrs Judith Nyenze and wife to immediate former MP for the region Francis Nyenze and threw their full weight behind her.
“ It is therefore appropriate and compassionate that the widow is granted a chance by the people of Kitui West to implement the development agenda championed by her late husband who was, a leader of National repute, if that is their wish. “ the memo finalised.
