The flight carrying Miguna to Ontario, Canada, left Jomo Kenyatta International Airport on Tuesday night, according to sources.
“We are reliably informed that Miguna Miguna has been forced into a KLM flight for “deportation” to Canada,” tweeted lawyer Nelson Havi, who’s affiliated with NASA.
This follows his appearance at a Kajiado court, where he was charged with treason for taking part in the swearing in of NASA leader Raila Odinga. Opposition politicians have been demanding that police produce the vocal NASA supporter in court.
The state has been ignoring court orders to set him free.
The self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general had dared Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i to arrest him for administering the oath that Raila took at Uhuru Park when he was sworn in as the people’s president.
Miguna holds the Canadian and Kenyan citizenship.
