- Justice Odunga’s transfer to Machakos as Maraga reshuffles judges
Justice George Odunga has been transferred to Machakos in a latest reshuffle affecting senior judges.
Justice Pauline Nyamweya who was previously at the Machakos High court will replace him at the Judicial Review Division.
The principal judge Richard Mwongo on Tuesday signed the changes that were unveiled in a letter .
“CJ David Maraga has made transfers of judges and issue individual judges affected with letters,” the letter reads in part.
Chief Justice David Maraga also transferred Justice Mwongo from the Milimani law court to Naivasha.
Also in the changes wasJustice Christine Meoli who was moved from Naivasha High court to Kiambu.
Justice Joel Ngugi has been moved from Kiambu and will be the presiding judge at the Nakuru High court whereas Justice Maureen Odero moves to the Civil Division in Nairobi from Nakuru.
Justice Lydia Achode of the Family Division in Nairobi has been transferred to Eldoret High court while Justice of Eldoret will now be stationed at the Civil Division in Nairobi.
The Chief Justice also transferred Justice Jacqueline Kamau from Voi to the Civil Division in Nairobi whereas Justice Rose Ougo was moved to Kisii where she will replace Justice Wilfrida Okwany who was moved to the Constitutional and Human Rights Division in Nairobi.
Judge George Kimondo who has been in Eldoret was posted to the Kisii High court as the presiding judge.
Judge Joseph Karanja has been transferred from Kisii to Homa Bay High court while Justice Roselyn Aburii will now man Bungoma High court as the presiding judge having been transferred from the Judicial Review Division.
Justice Hellen Omondi has been moved from Homa Bay to Eldoret while Judge Boaz Olao from Kerugoya to Bungoma High court.
Judge Samuel Mukunya will be posted from Bungoma to Kerugoya High court whereas Judge Abida Aroni has been transferred from Bungoma to the Family Division in Nairobi.
The Jubilee Party last year asked Dr.Maraga to remove Odunga from all August 8 cases
Party secretary general Raphael Tuju noted with concern Odunga’s relationship with NASA chief polls agent James Orengo in a letter to Chief Justice David Maraga.
