The Kitui County Governor, H.E Charity Ngilu will miss the summon by the National Cohesion and Intergration Commission (NCIC) on Tuesday, 20th February to answer for incitement comments recently leveled against her.
The governor will instead record a statement at the Kitui police station at 10am on the said day, accompanied by her counsel
This comes in light of Kitui High Court having issued an anticipatory bill to the governor under certificate of urgency yesterday, February 19th, 2018.
Ngilu’s summon comes weeks after her strong voice against charcoal and sand trade in Kitui landed her a fallout with Kiambu county residents and leaders who now accuse Ngilu of ethnic remarks.
Ngilu has however come out to oppose the Kiambu allegations that she is targeting Kikuyu community and noting that the ban in her county foes not in anyway affect the neighbouring communities and/or counties.
“No charcoal and sand Business in Kitui regardless of your ethnic background” Ngilu insisted.
