Mwingi west MP Charles Nguna has called for a hastened distribution of relief food in his constituency so has to ensure that pupils in the area do not drop out of school due to lack of food and residents get enough food even as they prepare their farms for the on-going rains.
Speaking at his CDF office at Migwani in his constituency yesterday, the legislator said that Kitui has been pointed out as one of the counties currently being affected by drought, hence the ministry of agriculture should fast-track the process of issuing relief food to the residents of the county.
On the deal between NASA leader and President Uhuru Kenyatta, Mr Nguna said that leaders in the country should take this moment to compensate for the time the country had lost in the prolonged period of politicking.
He said that peace in the country is paramount; hence leaders should embrace the on-going process of dialogue between the opposition and the government, as well as shun divisive politics.
