The most awaited Kitui sevens has been postponed to a date in June later this year. Confirmed reports indicate that the event is set to be held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June, 2018 due to uncertainty of heavy rains.
Confirming the postponement of the event Sports CEC, Koki Musau alias Kuvasila cited uncertainty of heavy rains being experienced as the main reason for postponing Kitui sevens.
“Due to the uncertainty of heavy rains we have rescheduled our Kitui sevens Rugby event to be held on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of June. We highly appreciate your support and partnership as a County government and apologise to our would be fans and visitors and request you to prepare for even a bigger and broader event. We sincerely plan to promote and support all the sporting activities in Kitui. God bless you All“. Patrick Koki Musau, Minister for Tourism Sports and Culture, Kitui County
This comes after a lot of funs and other residents from around the country were eagerly waiting for this rugby event.
According to Kuvasila the June event will be bigger and better with a key objective of promoting Kitui County.
This is coming days after users of social media platforms questioned how prepared the government was for the same, especially hyping the event.
