The Machakos governor Alfred Mutua on the other hand rubished the meeting as a Wiper Party’s affair adding that all political parties which have presence in the region must be part of a REAL Unity and Development meeting. Mutua further insisted that his presidencial ambitions are not shelved for whatever reasons.

Maendeleo Chap Chap Party wishes to reiterate that Party Leader Dr Alfred Mutua will vie for the Presidency in 2022. We respect the contributions and role played by our leaders over the years. The time has come for the Kamba Nation to field a candidate who in 2022 can win the Presidency and one who can bargain on behalf of our community without fear or malice. We humbly urge all leaders to join in this quest to bring the Presidency to Ukambani in 2022.” Mutua noted in an official press release.
