Kitui governor charity Kaluki Ngilu has pledged to do a robust improvement to the healthcare system in the county in order to ensure that residents get affordable and quality medication in the local hospitals.
The Kitui governor made this assurance during an impromptu visit at Mwingi level IV hospital, aimed at ascertaining the state of healthcare in the facility.
Madam Ngilu said that so far some improvement had been done on the sector and soon more personnel and drug supplies will be done to all hospitals across the county in order to ensure that the state of health changes for better.
The governor also said that she will soon launch a mega healthcare scheme which will see all Kitui people enrolled in a medical cover, enabling them to access free medical services within the county just by contributing sh.1000 per every nuclear family yearly.
“Any child below five years, the physically challenged, the elderly who are 70 years and above and delivery services will be free within Kitui county” Governor Ngilu stated
She said that the state of Mwingi Level IV hospital is good though there are some improvements which needs to be done in order to better services in the facility.
