Kitui county moves to preserve water sources

Governor Ngilu during launch of Training program for water resources personnel

The County Government of Kitui seeks to ensure the sustainability of water supplies and sources in the county and has since Launched Water Resource Persons’ Training for Sustainability of Water Supplies.

The ambitious initiative is set to roll out after the just launching that took place on April 12, at the Kenya Water Institute, Kitui.

Addressing hundreds of resource persons and stakeholders at the event, Governor Charity Ngilu said her administration is committed to ensure sustainability of the existing water sources and at the same time guarantee no boreholes break down due to i maintenance issues.

We expect that you will work with utmost cooperation to ensure uninterrupted water supply to our people” she said.

The Governor urged the team to set pace for a determined service delivery in the water sector to deal with water scarcity faced by residents in Kitui.

Ngilu promised to implement policies that will see the county attain milestones in water provision.

We must bring this suffering to an end. We have the will, the commitment and the resources to do so” she added.

Accompanying the Governor at the event was the Deputy Governor Dr. Wathe Nzau, County Executive Committee Member for Water Emmanuel Kisangau, CEC Tourism and Sports Patrick Musau among other senior government officials.
