MCA bashes Kenyan media for prioritising Raila’s handshakes

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga when he met retired president Mwai Kibaki in Muthaiga on April, 20, 2018

The Makueni nominated Member of County Assembly, Linet Mbula has hit at Kenyan media gouses for prioritising and popularizing NASA leader Raila Odinga’s handshakes at the expense of more worthy news.

Speaking through her official social media handles, Mbula said that the former Prime Minister’s meetings with former presidents Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki are of no importance to common mwananchi hence should not be branded ‘BREAKING NEWS’.

So Raila meeting Mwai Kibaki is breaking news, whoever called you ‘githeri’ media wasn’t wrong,” Mbula posed.

Mbula further noted that there are more important issues in the country which should be highlighted by the media instead of incessantly following what the former Prime Minister does each and every day.She then the media need to improve on its level of news coverage and learn to focus on more important issues.

We have news out there that can help ‘mwananchi’, but the media can’t see them since they are busy following what Raila is doing and where he is going,” Mbula posted on her Facebook page.
