The political war of words between Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Wavinya Ndeti is far from coming to an end.
This time round Wavinya openly called for the resignation of the governor claiming that he has constantly focused much of his energy on the 2022 presidential election.
She argued that by focusing on 2022 elections, Governor Mutua was undermining devolution.
“Mutua has continued to undermine and sabotage devolution and we hereby urge him to resign ahead of Court of Appeal ruling on June 8 and let the people of Machakos experience the fruits of devolution,”Wavinya said.
Wavinya who Unsuccessfully ran against Mutua on Wiper party ticket for the governor had issues with some of the projects the governor started calling them cosmetics for the cameras.
“The recent poll on how Kenyans rate Governors by Pottpoll is a clear indication of how Machakos County has been duped for too long through cosmetic projects meant just for the cameras and documentaries rather than helping the people,” Ndeti posted.
Alfred Mutua declared his interest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta come 2022.He has been meeting a number of governors and this is viewed as laying the foundation as he takes his first contest for the presidential seat.
Mutua, the Maendeleo Chap Chap (MCC) party leader who disagreed with National Super Alliance (NASA) deputy leader Kalonzo Musyoka urged Kenyans to support him in the coming elections promising to elliminate tribalism and give new leadership that the country has never had before.
He also stated that he would start a new movement for the whole country that would fulfill the dreams and aspirations of all Kenyans.
