Mention of disunity in Kambaland was a direct implication of Governor Mutua and Kivutha.

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua and Governor Kivutha Kibwana who formerly were in disagreement concerning Ukambani politics unite with Kibwana declaring he had no grudge with Mutua.

Governor Kibwana permited Maendeleo Chap Chap leader Alfred Mutua to visit any part of Ukambani to campaign.

Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana ends his fight against Alfred Mutua just a few days after the reported disagreements within Kalonzo Musyoka’s Wiper party.

The two governors rivalry involved Ukambani politics and the wiper leader was aso part of this silent war.

As a sign of unity,Kibwana confessed he had no any further grudges with Mutua. After consultations with Kalonzo, they resolved to allow Alfred Mutua to visit any part of Ukambani region.

We have reached a consensus with Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka to remove any political roadblocks erected in the region against the Machakos governor,” Kibwana said.

Machakos governor confirmed his decision to run for the Presidency seat in 2022 under Maendeleo Chap Chap party.

“I welcome Kibwana’s public pronouncement that I am 100% welcome in Makueni county and that in consultation with Wiper party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, they had decided to lift all political roadblocks’ against my presidential campaigns inside Makueni or any other region of Ukambani,” Mutua said.

Makueni governor resolved with Kitui governor Charity Ngilu and former Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti to unite with Wiper so that the Kamba community have unity to gain political power.

These leaders had ganged up against Mutua claiming that he was a Jubilee operative in Ukambani.

Kibwana’s Muungano party merged with Wiper prior to the 2017 elections in a move to boost Kalonzo and the Kamba community’s position in the opposition alliance.

Things didnt turn out as expected after the election as power struggles hit the NASA affiliate party.

According to Kibwana, some members of County Assembly (MCAS) and some Members of Parliament were to blame for undermining and disrespecting him and other elected governors from the region.

He argued that the former vice president,Kalonzo Musyoka had failed to instill discipline among his political sycophants who have been clearly ridiculing and harassing them.

Kivutha’s agreement to work with Mutua has left many analysts to believe that he is a up to starting a new political course.

“Today I joined my brother and counterpart, Prof Kivutha Kibwana , Governor of Makueni County for a fund raiser in aid of Shinestar Secondary School in Makindu.

Prof. Kibwana and I committed to join hands in uniting Ukambani leaders to chart a common path towards realization of real unity and development for our people.
In full recognition of our diversity in political orientation, Prof. Kibwana and I had an opportunity to shake hands in public as of our resolve to work,” said Mutua.
