Former Kitui Senator David Musila is among the most experienced Kamba politicians.

Musila, a former Wiper Party chairman has taken a low political life after his defeat in last year’s general election.

Musila contested for the Kitui gubernatorial seat as an independent candidate after falling out with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka days after Wiper primaries were conducted in the county.

He accused Kalonzo of favoring former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe in the party nominations.

Musila had demanded a direct endorsement for the Kitui seat, but Kalonzo was of the view that all candidates battle it out in the nominations.

He then declared support and even campaigned for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election in the October 26 repeat presidential election after he disagreed with Kalonzo.

The former senator’s political whereabouts remain unknown even as Kamba leaders chart the way forward ahead of the 2022 polls.

According to political pundits, Musila’s political experience is still needed in Ukambani politics.

“Musila is a respected politician he will be needed as Kamba community charts way forward ahead of 2022,” Peter Ngure, a political commentator says.

In his last media address, Musila endorsed Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua’s 2022 presidential bid.

He said Mutua has the vision of the Kamba community and the country at large.

As at now, the former senator is among former vocal politicians battling for political survival.
