Kitui County is ready to host the Rugby 7s event, Governor Charity Ngilu declared today.
Speaking during a sensitization forum for stakeholders in Kitui town, Governor Ngilu said sufficient preparations have been done to manage a fruitful event.
Ngilu reiterated her commitment towards sighting all available opportunities to boost the economic muscles of the county.
The Governor said that such opportunities will be availed to enable the residents market their products and guarantee increased business opportunities for all.
“Such opportunities won’t end with this, we’ll continue to promote our people” she said.
Present at the meeting, Churchill Show Host, comedian and radio host Daniel Ndambuki described Kitui as among the latest business frontiers in the country and wooed investors to grasp the endless opportunities at hand.
Ndambuki said that the approaching event will be a great opportunity for Kitui people to market their products and explore the gap in market for bridging.
He said Ukambani has gifted young persons and challenged them to envision joining marketable productions for talent growth and economic empowerment.
International Rugby warrior Benjamin Ayimba who won the Singapore 2016 Rugby competitions graced the meeting.
He said that Rugby remains a coveted sport that young people must venture in.
The sevens event has been organized by the County Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture in partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU).
The event is scheduled to take place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd day of June this year.
