Yatta International Orchestra’s Kennedy Wambua Ngunze alias Ken Wa Maria known for his hits Funtamentals, Miss Musembi, Wakatimba Pumbafu among others is set to perform at the Kitui sevens.
Ken Wamaria on Wednesday 16th was in Kitui town to sign a performance agreement with the Kitui County Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports.
The Funtamentals hitmaker is set to perform at the evening party on the 1st June at the Intercounty Hotel at Kitui Town.
The Kitui Rugby Sevens is set to be held at Kitui on the 1st and 2nd of June at Kitui County and is set to attract teams from all over the country.
Upon signing the agreement, Ken Wamaria promised his fans a great performance asking them to turn up in huge numbers.
“Come prepared for thrilling fan and dance,” Ken said.
Kitui business community has been promised good business during the tournament as fans of rugby across the country are set to spend their weekend in the county.
The County Chief Officer Tourism, Culture and Sports Kimanzi Zakayo added that the long-awaited Rugby Sevens tournament will be felt at all the urban centres surrounding Kitui county urging the business people to prepare for huge profits.
“Our people in the business sector should be well prepared for boom profits, Spill over effect will be felt by all neighbouring urban centres; Wikililye-Mulango, Kisasi, Kabati, Kwa Vonza, Mwingi among others. Players and fans will go to an extent of sleeping in all these towns as they tour our county” said Mr Zakayo.
Apart from Ken Wa Maria other artists set to perform during the sevens Rugby will be celebrated comedian Daniel Churchill’ Ndambuki (Churchill Show), musician T-Bros and Kamba hit celebrity Alex Kasau Katombi among other local artists.
