To Grace Mwikali 25th may will remain among the worst days in her life as the day she nearly lost her tongue to attackers.
On the the fateful day, Mwikali was attacked by unknown people at Makindu when she went to take a drink at Tumaini pub leaving her in a comma.
The 25 years old lady says that she woke woke up outside the Tumaini pub several hours after the attack only to find part of her tongue daggling outside her mouth with blood oozing.
“What followed after is still a misery to me because I cannot remember anything but I can recall holding up my tongue from falling with blood oozing from my mouth at wee hours” Mwikali narrated.
The mother of two was narrating the story to Makueni County Deputy Governor Adelina Mwau when she visited her at Mkindu level 4 where she is receiving treatment.
The Deputy governor condemned the attack promising that action must be taken on whoever found responsible.
“If they are found guilty let them be prosecuted and serve their punishment” Adelina said.
Adelina added that alcohol to women can be dangerous as it makes them more vulnerable to attacks and rape.
According to Dr Khalid, the Kibwezi Sub-county medical officer of health, Mwikali is responding well to medication.
