A pastor has been arrested for allegedly defiling and impregnating a 16-year-old girl in Makueni County.

Confirming the incident, Makueni Police boss Bosita Omukolongolo said the pastor is held at Makueni Police Station and will soon be arraigned in court once after further investigation.

Bosita said police were in advance stage of the investigations and the suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as the investigations are over.

The man is in custody but he hasn’t been arraigned in court. The law is clear that a suspect must appear in court within 24 hours after arrest but we had to ask the court for permission to conduct investigations,” he said.

According to the victim, the pastor tricked her and later defiled her.

The Makueni residents who were so much annoyed with the news bitterly condemned the act wondering why the “man of God” suddenly turned and feasted on his sheep.

“I thought pastors should be on the forefront in guiding and being role models not only to their followers but the public at large in doing good deeds, if he’s really guilty it will be a total shame,” said Lewis Kiilu, a trader in Wote town.

The suspect is a pastor of Good News Church of Africa (GNCA).

If the pastor is truly guilty as charged, apart from the court, God also has his punishment for the good book says “Woe unto the pastors that scatter and destroy the sheep of my pasture! Saith the Lord. Therefore, thus saith the Lord God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; ye have scattered my flocks, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the Lord (Jer 3:1-2)
