Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai claims the Kamba Community has no substantive appointee in Jubilee Government.
The first time MP said President Uhuru Kenyatta was duped to believe that the Foreign Affairs CS Monica Juma was a Jubilee ‘Kingpin” in Ukambani.
Mbai said Ambassador Juma neither has “heart” nor “interest” in Ukambani.
Speaking in his constituency, Mbai said the Kamba nation lacks working connection with the current regime.
“Our stand as Kamba leaders and Jubilee leadership in Ukambani is that we are not represented in Jubilee Government because Monica Juma who is said to be our representatives has already shifted her interests to Muranga County” said Mbai.
“She was born in Gilgil, schooled in Gilgil and married to Muranga, she knows nothing about the Kamba Nation,” he added.
The firebrand youthful Jubilee politician said the community has got no single slot in the Jubilee Government despite the fact that the fact that Kambas voted for the party overwhelmingly on August 8, 2017 as compared to previous general elections.
“We gave Uhuru Kenyatta many votes as compared to the Luhya community, yet Mulembe nation bagged several senior positions in government including Senate speaker and a cabinet secretaries,” said Mbai.
He linked Dr Juma to the downfall of all Jubilee losers in the region including former Mwingi Central MP Joe Mutambu, and that she is currently frustrating any agenda pushed by Ukambani leaders to the Jubilee Government.
“Her father Juma is currently the Wiper chairman in Nuu division and daughter serving the Jubilee Government, what does that mean?”
He told President Uhuru Kenyatta that Ms Juma is not an Ukambani representative saying she should be redeployed to an ambassadorial post if there are no cabinet slots and her position given to a true son or daughter of the soil who understands dynamics and regional politics.
“She has never called a meeting for Kamba community since her appointment, she is instead using Government machinery to frustrate both wiper and Jubilee leader’s altogether”
Married to Prof Peter Kagwanja in Muranga County, Monica’s ancestral home is rooted at Mutyambiu village in Nuu division, Kitui County.
Her career spans across a wide range of posts sand responsibilities within the country and internationally.
Prior to her appointment to the current docket, she was the Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign affairs.
She previously served as a PS in Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government until January 2016.
Before then, she served as PS in ministry of defense, and in 2008, Amb Juma served on the united nation Secretary General‘s high level panel on resourcing for UN security council among other positions.
After 2017 august 8thpolls, a number of Jubilee candidates in Ukaambani raised eyebrows of how she coordinated Jubilee election affairs in the region
”She withheld appointment letters for Jubilee agents in 2017 elections deliberately to frustrate candidates, that is how we lost key leaders such as Hon Mutambu” said Mbai.
