Machakos leaders and residents have been urged to accord the governor Dr.Alfred Mutua the outmost respect he deserves despite the political temperatures in the county.
Speaking during a public participation forum in Kangundo,Kangundo west Membee of county assembly Titus Kaloki Ikusya said that lately leaders have been smearing the governor’s name with mud.
He said that people should accept that he’s still the governor until the supreme court decides otherwise.
“We don’t have any other governor and everyone should learn to work with the government of the day despite the leader we have seen certain certain MCA’s call the governor all sorts of names shamelessly and the habit should come to an end”, Said Ikusya.
” It’s all about our people who chose us to serve them we should accept the ruling leaders and shun decisive politics”, He added.
Ikusya’s sentiments were shared by Matungulu west Member of county assembly Moffat Maitha who said that some areas are lagging behind in development due to the leaders shying away from working with the county government.
“If your desired leader didn’t get elected keep calm and wait for the next elections instead of punishing your people and denying them development simply because you can’t work with the leader in charge“, Said Maitha.
The event was attended by Machakos deputy governor Francis Maliti flanked by several MCA’s from Matungulu and Kangundo sub counties.
Opinion leaders from the two sub counties had gathered to give their views about the proposed Tala-Kangundo municipal towns.
