Police in Makueni have laid ther hands on a forty year old man accused of peddling bhang after several years of hunting him.
County police commander Joseph Napeiyan confirmed the incident saying that the man was apprehended at his hideout in Slota,Wote town.
He said that the police were able to arrest him after a tip-off from the members of the public.
The suspect was accused was arrested with two of his accomplices identified as James Muteti and Mutisya Kilonzo.
Naipeyan said that the suspect had on several occasions eluded trap by police.
He said that after raiding the suspects house the police found 500 stones and 551 rolls of bhang, all valued at Sh.16,000.
He observed that the suspects are held in Makueni police station and will appear in court once investigations are over.
“The suspects will appear in court once investigations are competed”, He said.
He said the suspect headed a well organised gang of criminals dealing in bhang peddling in the lower eastern region.
On the same day police nabbed 19 sacks of bhang valued at sh.five million in Emali town.
Two suspects involved in the case were arrested and locked in emali police station.
