Former Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama was undeniably one of the most vocal senators in the last regime.
However, when he chose to pull out of the race alot of people were shocked.
It was a move that the Wiper party didn’t see it coming.
His move increased the number of aspirants who wanted to claim his seat increase from one to five.
In one way or the other he contributed to the loss of senatorial seat by the Wiper candidate Jackson Kalla.
After the August 8 elections Chama Cha Uzalendo aspirant Boniface Kabaka clinched the seat trouncing his competitors.
On September2017 when Machakos governor was taking oath of office Kabaka claimed that he will work with the governor contrary to his predecessor who was at loggerheads with the county boss.
Since then the newly elected senator was rarely heard reason as to why some residents think he has gone to bed with the governor.
Machakos residents waited for him to condemn or oversight the county leadership in vain.
Last week over four thousand victims were evicted from the controversial East African Portland cement company in Athi river only Mavoko legislator Patrick Makau came forward to condemn the evictions.
All other Machakos leaders kept quiet about the issue not even the governor or senator spoke about it.
