The Machakos panty governor Dr. Alfred Mutua is once again under siege, falling out with a section of Members of CPU to Assembly affiliated to the Wiper party.
The section of Machakos MCAs has threatened to destabilize Governor Alfred Mutua’s administration completely.
The MCAs cited the appointment of seven Executive Committee Members (CECs) without the Assembly’s approval as reason for their war against the governor.
The lawmakers said they will give the governor a nightmare for failing to involve them in the appointments adding that the governor’s action is a sign of disrespect to them.
This turn of events comes after the county boss appointed seven CECs into different offices without vetting and approval by the MCAs as stipulated in the law.
Mark Muendo, the house’s Majority Leader said Mutua was misadvised to effect the appointments even before they were vetted and approved by the assembly.
Muendo said the governor breached the constitution by executing the CECs appointments.
“The governor is totally misled. We will not allow him to break the law with unconstitutional appointments,” Muendo said.
During Mutua’s first full cabinet meeting since August 8, 2017 elections, the governor told the newly sworn in CECs that the residents desire development more than anything else.
He threatened to fire CECs who are not ready to work for the betterment of the people’s living standards.
“I do not want jokers,l you either deliver or go home. If you are with us during the day but dancing to a different tune at night, you will have to go,” Mutua said.
