Kitui and Mwingi Kenya Medical Training Colleges gladly received new buses to enhance training and movement of students on Friday.
The buses were officially handed over by the KMTC Board Chairman Prof. Philip Kaloki to the Principals Ms. Mary Kibui and Ms. Evelyn Nyamai of Mwingi and Kitui campuses respectively.
Pro kaloki said that the KMTC headquarters funded fully the acquisition of the buses and the World Bank, which sponsors the enrolled community nursing programme in eight KMTC campuses offered a helping hand.
On an interview moments after presenting the bus at mwingi campus,kaloki assured the students that the KMTC Management was keen on ensuring that necessary infrastructure is in place to enhance their training adding that the bus will ease their movement to clinical areas.
Emphasizing the College’s mandate in supporting the Government towards achievement of the Universal Health Coverage goals, one of the big four agendas, Professor Kaloki said that they have an important role of developing human resource for health and that is why they are devolving the admissions office to the Campuses.
Prof. Kaloki also thanked the County Government of Kitui led by the Governor Charity Ngilu for the exceptional support accorded to the campuses especially for allocating funds in the Financial Year for construction of classrooms at Mwingi Campus and addtion of lecturers to both campuses.
CEO Prof. Kiptoo reminded the students to serve the public diligently. He further commended the students for the good performance in their studies and urged them to keep working hard because the country had a lot of expectations on them.
on their side the students thanked kmtc headquarters for the gift saying it will help them in placements and other school related activities.
