Father pleads not guilty, denies defiling his 11 year-old daughter

Friday 3rd August, 2018 was a long day for a middle aged man arraigned in Kitui Law Courts for defiling his 11 year old daughter late July this year.The accused, Isaac Musyoka Mutia, is said to have on 28th July this year defiled his daughter at his rural home at Tumialoni village in kitui county.

The accused Mutia, however, pleaded not guilty over the charge against him before kitui Residents Magistrate Rose Ombata.

Magistrate Ombata ordered the accused father to remain under police custody till 14th August, this year as the court’s Chief Prosecutor awaits to receive the report from Children’s Officer concerning his behaviour at home.The teport shall also reflect on his relationship patterns with members of the public within his Tumialoni residential home, Wikililye location.

The provisions of the expected report according to this court will also determine whether the accused Mutia should be released on a bond or not.If found that he relates well with the villagers the accused shall be freed on bond but shall shall continue being held under Kitui Central Police custody if the report exposes he has been nuisance to the society.
