Lorry driver who caused death of 10 pupils arraigned in court

The driver of the Lorry which caused the accident behind the death of 10 pupils of St. Gabriel boarding primary school in Mwingi was yesterday arraigned at Mwingi law courts facing 9 counts of causing deaths by dangerous driving.

The driver of the Lorry was arrested on Sunday and detained at Mwingi police station awaiting to be arraigned in court on Monday.

Appearing before Mwingi law courts Senior principal magistrate Kibet Sambu, the driver identified as Abdala Hassan pleaded not guilty of all nine charges and was admitted to a bond of Ksh. 5 million and two sureties of similar amount or a cash bail of Ksh. 1 million.

The case will be mentioned on 20th of August, 2018 before the same court.
