A water tank kills two in Makueni

Two children lost their lives on Sunday in Thange Makueni after drowning in a tank .

The kids aged four and six had gone to play at their neighbours house before the tragedy struck.

The incident was confirmed by Thange location chief Nicholas Mwonga who said that the mother of the two kids had gone to do her laundry when they sneaked out.

He said that there was construction going on and the workers were using the tank to fetch water for building.

The incident happened at around 11:30 am when the kids left to play at the neighbours house,they climbed the tank where they drowned “, Said Mwonga.

He said that their bodies were discovered by one of the workers as he came to fetch water for building.

The chief warned residents against not knowing the whereabouts of their kids.

He said parents should warn their children against playing dangerous games that may lead to accidents.

The bodies of the two children were taken by police to Makindu hospital mortuary for preservation awaiting postmoterm.

Police have commenced Investigations into the incident.
