Kitui county minister for Agriculture and Water Emmanuel Kisangau backed Governor Ngilu’s Universal Healthcare which will benefit every Kitui resident especially the less privileged.
“KCHIC is a low cost cover in the county where Ksh.1, 000 per year will be paid for the entire household and it is better to use our social support system of contributing for poor families to enrol into the program rather than doing Harambees for medical bills” Kisangau said
“Orphans will be registered under a guardian as the principal contributor. This could be grandparent or an uncle, aunt. To avoid any doubts at point of accessing service you may obtain a recommendation letter from a chief.” The CECM added
On Thursday evening, there was a heated debate on the success of Kitui county health insurance cover in various social media platforms.
Because everyone is entitled to his/her own opinions, majority of Kitui residents were behind their laptops and phones typing their take on this universal health care.
Dickens Kyale who was former Governor Julius Malombe’s advisor before resigning took to one active whatsapp group to make known his views on K_chic.
‘I took time2inbox a cec abt my thots. They have it. I have also aired it here, they have my views.
Whether they appreciate it or not is another story.
I know am never malicious and wen I said kchic won’t succeed based on how it was getting off I did so out of my knowledge of how strategic plans work. It is wat I do4organizations and a few counties.
Sadly hii ya my county won’t work and those who love the governor must tell her so badala ya kumdanganya.’
This post came at a time when very few people have turned up to register for the universal health care insurance.
