Matungulu member of parliament Stephen Mule has urged Machakos governor Dr.Alfred Mutua to scoop and fence major dams in the county to prevent water accidents.

Addressing journalists in his office on Monday Mule said that the governor should ensure no more water deaths by fencing the dams.

“The dams are left unfenced and unscooped are time bombs that will claim the lives of our people depending on them for water, the ministry of water is devolved and the governor should up his game “, said Mule.

He said that the governor should ensure the water is pumped and the residents can access it without having to get into the dam.

” For how long should you wait to build a fence to the dam,do you want our people to continue drowning while you sit and watch? “,asked Mule.

He criticized the emergency services in Machakos county for failing to respond immediately when they were notified of the drowning incident.
